Established on June 1, 1981, the Government Elementary College of Education (Women), Larkana is currently under the management of SZABIST’s ZAB-ed initiative.
Initially, the college offered PTC and CT courses to female students from Larkana and neighboring districts, including Kamber and Shahdadkot, focusing on developing their teaching skills and enhancing their learning capabilities.
Since 2014, the college has offered the two-years Associate Degree in Education (ADE) and the four-years B.Ed. (Honors) program. These programs emphasize contemporary pedagogical techniques, strong subject matter knowledge, and the development of effective instructional, teaching communication, and critical thinking skills, incorporating diverse strategies and activities in the teaching and learning process.
Formerly affiliated with Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, G.E.C.E. (W) is now affiliated with Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur. Many of its graduates are currently employed as teachers in government and private schools throughout Sindh.

We offer two programs: the two-year Associate Degree in Education (ADE) and the four-year Bachelor of Education (Honors) Elementary degree.
ADE leading to B.Ed. (Hons.) Elementary is a transitional two-year program of 72 credit hours and is composed of four semesters of 16-18 weeks each.
The scheme of studies emphasizes on teaching practice, 6 credit hours are exclusively included to promote practicum and practical work in the new program besides the teaching practice within each course.
Ed. (Hons.) Elementary is a four-year program of 144 credit hours and is composed of eight semesters of 18 weeks each.
The scheme of studies emphasizes on teaching practice of longer duration, 15 credit hours are exclusively included to promote practicum and practical work in the new program besides the teaching practice within each course.
